Life Priorities

Funny how time flies... Just got a week off. Mom came and spent a week with us. It seemed like 2 days! We went places, did things, went to the beach on the only day it wasn't a scortcher. LOL
We did manage to go to my favorite restaurant... Rebekha's Sushi Restaurant. Went to the one in Bolton this time. What a good time and good food!

I am glad I took that time even though I have a lot of work to do. Sometimes, you have to make room for life priorities.

It's time to go back to work. lots to do today. Shoot tomorrow and next week will be full too. I will post samples as we go! Have a great week end all!

Portrait Session or Photo Shoot?

It's probably only semantics. Or is it? I consider a portrait photo session somewhat traditional in the sense of posing and lighting. It is the best way to keep a portait session under control and make sure the essential images are captured. After achieving this though, I often feel that even though still special and customized, I haven't "created " or "invented "anything new.

That is where I make the distinction. Now it's time to play. Now it's time for a photo shoot. Change the outfits, try new formations, provoque reactions, bring out the funky props and backdrops.

I tell my clients to bring many changes of clothes and even their own music. Whatever inspires them. Why not start at the photo shoot then? Well, it always seems to take a few minutes to get in to the swing of things... So start at the portrait session until the feel is more relaxed and move on to the photo shoot. This is fast becoming my own personal style and my clients are happy with the unique images, And so am I.
